CEO & Founder
In 2017, my life changed forever when my beloved 22-year-old son, Louis Justin, was taken from us in an unsolved homicide in Centennial Park, Santa Ana. The pain was unimaginable, and the silence that followed was even more devastating. In the midst of my grief, I sought support, understanding, a space where my pain could be seen and shared. What I found was a profound need within our Spanish-speaking community: a need for healing, for connection, for sharing experiences, and for walking this path together.
That is why I founded this organization: not only in memory of my son, but in honor of all the families who have lost a loved one to violence and feel forgotten. We are here to accompany you in your grief. We offer support groups in Spanish, resources for emotional healing, and a growing network of families who understand the unique pain of loss to homicide.
Our mission is to shine a light on the lives left behind: to raise awareness, build community, and remind every grieving heart: you are not alone.
Together we heal. Together we remember. Together we build a new life without violence, without crime, and with much love.
With all my heart,
In 2017, my life changed forever when my beloved 22-year-old son, Louis Justin, was taken in a homicide that remains unsolved in Centennial Park, Santa Ana, CA. The pain was unimaginable—and the silence that followed, even more devastating. In the midst of my grief, I sought support, understanding, a space where my sorrow could be seen and shared. What I found was a profound need within our Spanish-speaking community: the need to heal, to connect, to share experiences, and to walk together on this journey to give new meaning to our pain.
That is why I founded this project, «The Louis Justin Foundation»—not only in memory of my son, but in honor of every family that has lost a loved one to violence and feels utterly lost. We are here to support you through your grieving process. We offer self-help groups in Spanish, resources for emotional healing, and a growing network of families who understand the unique pain of losing someone to homicide.
Our mission is to bring light to the lives left behind—to raise awareness, build community, and remind every grieving heart: you are not alone.
Together we heal. Together we remember. Together we rise, and together we create a better world without violence, without crime, and with abundant love.
With all my heart,
Here’s an expansion of the core values for your non-profit, explaining what each means in practice for your work with Spanish-speaking families in Orange County.
Here’s an expansion of the core values for your non-profit, explaining what each means in practice for your work with Spanish-speaking families in Orange County.
Respect is fundamental to our work. It means honoring the dignity of each victim and their family, acknowledging their individual beliefs, traditions, and ways of grieving. We respect their pace, their choices, and their privacy. This value also extends to respecting the diverse experiences within the Spanish-speaking community, ensuring our support is always tailored and never prescriptive.
Our goal is to help survivors reclaim their strength and agency. Empowerment means providing families with tools, resources, and a supportive environment that enables them to navigate their grief, find their voice, and rebuild their lives on their own terms. Through art and cultural expression, we encourage them to transform pain into meaning, fostering resilience and a renewed sense of purpose.
We believe in the healing power of connection. Community means fostering a strong, supportive network where Spanish-speaking families can share their experiences, find solidarity, and realize they are not alone. Our virtual meetings and in-person cultural gatherings are designed to build bridges, reduce isolation, and create a sense of belonging, allowing collective healing to flourish.
Recognizing the rich cultural heritage of the Spanish-speaking community is at our core. Cultural Sensitivity means understanding and integrating the specific traditions, values, and nuances that shape the grieving process within Hispanic cultures. From the language we use to the artistic and cultural activities we offer, everything is designed to be relevant, respectful, and deeply resonant with the lived experiences of Orange County’s Spanish-speaking families.
Hope and support in the most difficult times.
